We arrive ine night early for a bus tour of Northern Italy. Meeting does not start til dinner time. We will be staying at the Crowne Plaza. We will have about 4-5 hours. How do you recommend we spend our day? Should we take a tour? a guide?.
I'd grab a shopping map, have some fun in amazing stores, and watch the world go by at the Domo while sipping a Comprari.
We are going in September. We are arriving a few days ahead of our tour. Seeing The Last Supper is a bucket list item for us so we bought tickets as soon as they became available. The Duomo has reasonably priced guided tours that take you to the roof (elevator up, many steps down). We hope to see La Scala but have not made any arrangements. We will cab to the Monumental Cemetery if we have time and energy. We are not big shoppers, not high fashion, but will enjoy some time at the Galleria. (Just looked at the map-you are a short walk from the cemetery)
Does your tour spend any time in Milan before it departs for other places? If it doesn't the top "go to" places in Milan are the Last Supper, the Duomo, the Sforzo Castle (and museum)(https://www.milanocastello.it/en) and nearby Sempione park (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parco_Sempione), La Scala and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele mall. You could also walk around the Quadrilatero d'Oro, https://www.inyourpocket.com/Milan/The-Golden-Rectangle-of-Fashion_73657f, where all the high end stores are located. Great for people watching. A small but in my opinion mighty museum is the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, https://www.ambrosiana.it/en/.
No, it does not. Just one night to start tour with dinner. I think we are best to do someort of guided toir with the Last Supper, Duomo and a bit of people watching,
