Help with Italy travel Planning-15 days (including travel days)

Hello, I love to read the forums to get travel tips. I had a question regarding my June trip from 6/7 to 6/21. I have the choose of two itineraries.
Option 1
Fly Miami to Venice on 6/7, arrive to Venice on 6/8, stay 3 nights in Venice
then go from Venice to Florece. Spend for 4 nights in Florence (including 1 day trip to Tuscany)
Florence-Rome and spend 3 nights in Rome
Then fly Rome-Barcelona. Stay in Barcelona for 3 nights then fly back to Miami

Or Option 2
Cut Barcelona and stay the entire length of my trip in Italy but perhaps spend 1 night in Lucca and more days in Rome or maybe do a couple of nights in another nice place in Italy.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am going with my husband and 14 year old daughter

Yes- I think you have a good itinerary and you’ve already figured it out. Add time to Rome. There’s plenty more to see in Tuscany with Siena and Lucca just two Tuscan towns easily reached from Florence. ( Don’t miss them). If you can extend your holiday beyond two weeks and want some beach time, Rapallo and Santa Marguerite Ligure would fit the bill
Barcelona is best for another two-week journey in the future.
Have a great trip!

I like option 2. I'd stay in Italy for the entire trip.

First time? 3 nights is very tight for Rome. There is a ton to see and just leaving a bit of time to wander is well worth it. The city itself is a living museum.

You could also add to Venice and consider visiting the outlying islands.

A day trip to Pisa from Florence could also be fun.

You could do Option 2, and give two days to Orvieto and another day to Rome. Orvieto is on the train line from Florence to Rome.

Also, let me check and see if there’s any festivals in the area during that time.

Hi, Rome could use four days, lots to see and many reservations needed before you go. Lucca is a great town, ride bikes on the city wall, maybe see Pisa while in Lucca. Orvieto is easily done in a day trip, a morning or afternoon is sufficient. While in Rome add to your schedule a dinner walking tour, Taste of Rome was great for our tour, Roberta was the host and she was also great! Enjoy!

Option # 2. Add those days to Venice and Rome.

I would spend a couple nights in Lucca! We did Venice, Florence, Lucca and Sienna last summer and Lucca was our favorite part. Very charming town with wonderful shops, restaurants and bakeries.
