Help with 3 day Rome trip itinerary! (First Sunday of month)

Hi. We are traveling to Rome for 3 days in the beginning of may (sat, sun,Mon). The sunday we will be there will be the first Sunday of the month , meaning all the museums are free and crowded. I was penciling in Caesar shuffle on Sat, borghese on Sat and Vatican on Monday. Will the Borghese be too crowded on the first Sunday, or any suggestions on other things for Sunday? Also, I can't seem to be able to buy tix for Borghese for that day, is it first come, first serve??

Entrance to the Galleria Borghese is limited to about 200-250 people at a time, so it won't be crowded inside. I don't know if reservations are taken for free Sunday, someone else will post if they are.

Just a few things to mention. Only state run museums are free. Private galleries set their own rules. Even on free Sundays there are only two sites that have huge crowds, the Vatican museums and the colosseum. The Vatican museums are free the last Sunday of the month, the colosseum is free the first Sunday of the month. You don't need to worry about other sites having lines.

The Borghese gallery is capacity controlled so it's never too crowded. For free Sunday you will need to call to make a reservation. You cannot do it online and if you wait until the day you'll find them fully booked.
