Help with 14 nights in Sicily

We are planning on 14 maybe 15 nights in Sicily in mid March. We plan on flying Rome to Palermo.
Here's a very rough itinerary.

Palermo 3 nights then pick up car at airport.

Drive to Segesta then Selinute. We love seeing ruins and history. Here's where we need help. Can we comfortably see both towns then make it to Agrigento before dark? Or should we stay 1 night around Selinute, maybe Marinella? Then head to Agrigento after visiting the ruins in Selinute?

Agrigento 2 or 3 nights (depending on when we arrive)

Ragusa 2 nights

Siracusa return the rental car, stay in Ortigia 3 nights

Taormina 2 or 3 nights.

Train or fly back to Rome for last few days before flying back to the US.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Stay one night around Selinunte.Stay 4 nights in Ortigia. Stay 2 nights in Taormina or ,perhaps, skip it. It was our least favorite place in Sicily.

Trying to fit in a drive from Palermo to Agrigento with visits to see both Segesta and Selinunte is too much for one day. You will need several hours at each site plus the driving time. Selinunte is expansive. Both Segesta and Selinunte will take time to explore. I suggest you consider visiting both Segesta and medieval Erice together on one day as you leave Palermo. They are relatively close to each other. You didn't mention Erice in your original plan but it is well worth a stop. Stay somewhere between Erice and Selinunte for the night, maybe in Mazara del Vallo. Mazara del Vallo is a colorful seaside town with a pretty and compact historical center with lots of Tunisian influence. Stay in or visit the historical center of the city ( but you would have to find out where to safely park your car. ). Then the next morning head over to explore Selinunte which is not far, spend several hours there and from there continue on to Agrigento. Marinella is a very small beach town right next to the Selinunte ruins. It may be easier to stay there with a car in terms of safely parking. I really enjoyed my visit to Selinunte. Unlike Agrigento, it is not crowded at all and you are free to roam all over the seaside ruins. Since you said you like ruins, you will enjoy Agrigento and don't forget the archeological park in Siracusa and the gorgeous Greek theater in Taormina. Do you have time on your drive from Agrigento to Ragusa to visit the Villa Romana del Casale to see the Roman mosaics? Three nights in Taormina wouldn't be necessary unless you use it as a base to visit Etna, the wineries or other surrounding sites. I have been to Sicily three times and greatly admire its beauty, food, people, traditions, and grit.

Loved Sicily except for Taormina which I would avoid. Taormina was the only place that was touristy.
