Hello! We are going to be in Parma in May for 2 nights, Its so hard to find any info on Parma and Rick Doesnt even mention it in his books. Has anyone been there? Can you recomend a b&b or hotel? I am only finding institutional type places and we dont like that, we want something with a little charm. Thanks!!!
Do you need to stay in Parma or will you have a car. I can dig up the name of a very nice hotel a couple of miles east on the Via Emilia.
I just thought it might be easier to stay in the city to sight see... but I am very open to any ideas!
It would be easier to stay in the city if you're going to spend most of your time in Parma. We had a car, so it was easier to stay outside, plus we could get to other towns like Modena and Verona more quickly because we didn't have to navigate out of town.
We found the Hotel Dell'Oca on the Via Emilia about just east of Parma near a village called San Prospero. It's a three star but I have no idea of current rates. Tripadvisor might list it. The hotel has a large swimming pool and poolside restaurant.
