Help Wanted - Tuscany Lodging Recommendations

Newbie here, so if this topic has been covered elsewhere, kindly point me in the right direction!

My wife and I are planning a week in Tuscany, and we'd also like to visit Cinque Terre during that time. Destinations/interests include Lucca, Siena, San Gimi, wine tours and biking. We'll be renting a car. We've been to Florence before, so time in the city is not a goal of this trip.

We don't need 5-star places, but nothing too rustic, either. Should we find one central location for the entire time, or consider splitting the week in North and South sections?

Thanks very much!

Donovan

Tons of Airbnb in Tuscany. We like Monticatini because of it's location West of Firenze and its two train stops. It's less than an hour to Lucca, Pisa and very close to Vinci, the home of Leonardo.

After reading several postings, re-reading the Italy guidebook, and taking more than a few spins on Tripadvisor, we've decided on a week at Casa Moricciani! The reviews were so universally outstanding that we put Cinque Terre on the back burner for this trip. I appreciate those who took the time to reply, and I'll be sure to post a review when we return (our trip is in October).

Thanks!
