Help me select our next trip, which would happen in early May 25.
We have been to Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna, Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, and Naples. We especially liked Florence because it was so walkable, with lots of alleys you could just wander around, and with a good amount of museums and churches to visit; and Bologna because the food was amazing, it wasn't as crowded, and we took a bunch of cool day trips by train (Parma, Ravenna, Moderna).
My heart wants to go to Venice and Lake Como, but i'm worried that in early May it may be too cold for the lakes and Venice just seems so very, very crowded all the time.
I'd say our ideal is walkable places with a good mix of things to do and wonderful food. I also love the idea of staying in one spot and taking day trips by train again, but that's probably secondary.
If you were me, where would you go next?
