Help Visiting the Vatican Radio Museum

Hi everyone,

I believe I may have an esoteric request. I did not find anything in the archives.

My husband is into ham radio and would like to visit the Vatican Radio Museum in the Palazzina Marconi next month. Does anyone know if it is by appointment, or only as part of a tour? He has found a couple of tour companies online who visit this site, but he's wondering if it’s accessible independent of a tour. Sadly, email to the contacts on the radio vatican web site have failed.

If you have any information to share, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks so much,

Sachie

Sachie, as far as I know the only parts of Vatican City that can be wandered about without a tour or approved escort are the museums, basilica, piazza in front of the basilica and the grottos under the church (not the Necropolis). If you are a Catholic, you might contact your local diocese to see if they have a contact in Rome who might be able to escort you to the radio museum?
