Help, tickets sold out to Vatican

We started planning our September trip in January.
So today I went to buy the tickets for the Vatican museums and sistine chapel for September 24th or September 25th

This is our first time to Rome and we only have 2 days, celebrating our 40 wedding anniversary. So upset. Can you please help me with info to get tickets

Thank you

Just checking
Are you using the official Vatican website?
If so and they are gone your options are wait in line that morning or book a tour with some company like Walks of Italy, Tour Guy, Through Eternity IF they have available
Book with the actual tour company not a reseller like Viator etc

We chose to do the “early entry” tour for Sistine Chapel and Vatican museums offered by City Wonders, and were very satisfied. They are an “official provider” and claim to be allowed the earliest entry into the chapel. That seems to be true, as there were only about 25 people in there total when we arrived. It was wonderful to be able to sit and enjoy all that beauty in peach and quiet for 20 minutes before others start arriving.

They do have availability on Sept. 25.

From the official website linked below, I found this option available on both 9/24 and 25: Single Guided Tours - Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel

I don't know what it entails, but perhaps is an option for you.

Edit - there is a description of the tour contents on the website linked above. I tried to cut and paste it in, but received an error message. Switch the website to English and you can select "More Information" including:

Route: the Pio Clementino Museum, the Candelabrian, Geographical Maps and Tapestries Galleries, Raphael's Rooms and the Sistine Chapel

I did some more reading. It says tickets come available 30 days before your start date. Is that true

Firstcome…it used to be 60 days in advance to purchase Vatican Museum tickets, but starting several weeks ago, all general admittance tickets became available for sale until the end of the year…but seem to be sold out for your two dates.
It looks as if there are guided tour tickets available for each of your days, but not in English. If it were me, I would grab those and simply tell the guide that you will be leaving the group and touring on your own once you are inside. I believe this would be acceptable.

firstcome…choose a language other than English for the guided tour…I believe there is availability for the Italian language tours

I haven't checked to see if the Vatican still runs their 'after hours' visit, but it be worth a search. We took it a year or two ago, arriving at 4 pm, taking a guided tour of a bit of the museum, and hitting the Sistine Chapel after closing time. It was our group and other, of about 30-40 people each. We stayed for quite a while. Afterwards, there were drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Well worth the cost, which wasn't very much as I recall.

firstcome - scroll down the link I sent. The guided tour is available on each of your days. I just did a "fake" purchase.

40 Euro
