HELP Salerno Train station

Need help please.

Urgently trying to book last minute train Salerno to Rome.

Mostly departures just specify Salerno, on train line etc , but when I go on the Italo site it specifies departing Salerno (Amalfi Coast)

Is there a difference. Am I missing something?

Italo is just saying that Salerno station serves the Amalfi Coast. They are not different stations. There are a few minor stations in Salerno served only by regional trains, and they have specific names like Salerno Torrione or Salerno Pastena. The main station is just Salerno.

The fast trains only stop at the main Salerno train station - Stazione di Salerno - and there is only one.

I'm assuming .Italo is highlighting that Salerno is the place to catch ferries and buses to the Amalfi Coast since people may not otherwise identify Salerno as a destination. But the station is the same.

We had need to change our train and re-book reservations from Salerno to Palermo on Sunday and the staff at Salerno station were both efficient and helpful and spoke good English.
