Help Please Your Opinion

We are spending five days in Rome (June) and have two days before we need to be in Venice. We were going to The Cinque Terre for the two days, but are having difficulty finding accomadations. So now we are in need of another stop for a few days. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We are a family of four with two teens.

How about Florence? There are a lot of things to do there & at least it's on the way to Venice whereas the CT would be out of your way. You could even spend one day in Florence and one day in Siena (Siena would make a nice day trip from Florence). Have a great trip.

Both Florence and Siena make allot of sense for your trip. Both are wonderful places. Florence is some of the most important and beautiful art ever made by man. Siena is more education and business. They are both wonderful to see and absorb. You cant go wrong with either. Enjoy, Jeff

John, have you tried booking.com and venere.com? Also how about someplace close to CT and train in? You can stay in LaSpezia and train in, or even Pisa-see the Leaning Tower while you're at it. A friend of mine (from Pisa) used to train to CT all the time on day trips.

I vote Siena and a possible day trip to Florence. Albergo Berninni (sp) in the RS guide is a perfect B&B to stay.

Thank you all for your wonderful ideas. My family is set on the CT and we have found a few places to stay. So to keep everyone happy I believe we will try the CT. Again thank you all for your replies.
