Help please! Looking for affordable 5 week lodging in Gargnano Feb/Mar, in/near town.

Hi all, my husband wants us to do a rather short notice trip to Gargnano on Lake Garda. We are looking for tips/clues for long term affordable housing in town so we do not have to rent a car. We will be using the public bus and trains to visit other areas. We are looking Feb/Mar, so it should be a slow, more affordable time to travel. Experienced advice and tips greatly appreciated. (As well as tips on things to do during that time.).

Thank you all! Happy holidays!

I don't have names to suggest, since I never stayed in Gargnano. Take a look at Tripadvisor and Booking.com. Many places may not be open in February however.
Gargnano is very pretty and an excellent choice, however Lake Garda is not well served by trains. The rail line is only on the southern shore and trains stop only at Peschera and Desenzano. From Desenzano to Gragnano, on the western shore, you need a bus. Buses are not super frequent, but they have several running until about 8pm. Lake Garda is one of those lakes where I recommend a car, also so that you can take quick trips to the majestic mountains nearby (the Dolomites are near).
