So my wife and I are going on a cruise out of Ravenna. We fly into Marco Polo in Venice on June 3rd @1pm. We need to figure out how to get down to Ravenna for our cruise on the 4th. We had booked a hotel for the night of the 3rd and had everything mapped out but misread about the trains. Now we're clueless as to how to get down to the hotel then to the cruise.
Please help. Any info is helpful
Thanks,
Lost American
I would contact your cruise company and see if they have transportation options. With the recent flooding, the normal train routes may not be running.
I checked on Trainline and there is a train on 6/4 at 11 something and arrives at 1:40ish. The others are sold out or gets you there much later.
No telling when those trains will be running again
Is the hotel you booked in Venice or in Ravenna?
Trainline is a reseller
I’d be careful and only use Trenitalia now because of flooding/train cancellations
All trains Venice to Ravenna go thru Bologna or Ferrara
See this info

One option might be get to Bologna stay there 1 night then hire a driver to Ravenna
If you google Venice airport to Ravenna then click the train symbol, you will see the public transportation options. Change the depart time to your date and see your options. It looks like it will take about 3 hours.
We tried the cruise line. They only offer on same day transfers of the cruise. We're getting there a day before.
The hotel is in Ravenna, close to the cruise port.
I found some bus info but the train thing is hectic. All the information is contradictory towards itself. It's hard to decipher.
Have you checked Flixbus?
Is Ravenna Hotel cancellable?
You might consider just staying in Venice and taking the cruise transfer-assume that’s from VCE?
Not sure I’d wait til next week to see if trains are up and running
Ended up getting some train tickets that someone above mentioned. Puts me in Ravenna around 10 so I need to find transportation to the hotel but hopefully we're good.
If you can make it to the train station, take a taxi from the station. Porto Corsini is not that far. Roads from the station to the port seem to be open.

If you purchased on Trainline I would caution you to keep an eye on the actual Trenitalia site to make sure train is actually running
As I understand it Trenitalia does not have to honor or protect ticket/connections purchased from third party reseller
Right now Trenitalia is not showing any trains on that route 6/3
Have you determined how you will get from VCE to the train station?
One workaround would be to take the train to Faenza (appears that trains serve there currently, the damage seems to be further down the line) and get a taxi onward to Ravenna.
Taxi from VCE to Venezia Mestre, train to Faenza (change in Bologna), taxi to Ravenna.
Probably not the cheapest or easiest but looks like it could work for your situation. Might be some other stations that could also work besides Faenza, I’m not super familiar with that part of Italy.
