Help!! Parking ticket!

My husband was working near Livorno, Italy for 3 months, he shared a car with a couple other guys BUT the rental car was in his name. The other guys had a parking violation with the car and since it was in my husband's name it was sent to him. The paperwork sent to us gave an app to use to pay it, but when I tried to download the app it says not available in the U.S. Store.

Any help or suggestions? Even though he did not do it, (we were in Venice the day of the ticket) we don't want it hanging over our heads for returns visits overseas.

THANKS!!

Does the issuing agency ( city/town?) have a website that has a 'contact us' feature or phone number ?

I thought of that and I have found a website and emailed asking for assistance and we are waiting and hoping for a reply. We are wondering if it is safe to give them a credit card number?

More than one person on the forum has used Transferwise to send money for traffic violations to the specified foreign bank account. I believe the fee was considered reasonable. However, I don't know how the municipal authority wants to be paid.

If you really want to try, you could probably download a VPN app like Tunnel Bear to make your device think you are in Europe, and then download the Italian app. But I'm guessing that app will be in Italian.

An alternative to this option is creating another iTunes account (if you're an iOS user) and register as an EU user (I chose UK when I did mine).

This will let you download apps that are region specific (previously the Trenitalia app) and be able to use them here in the states.
