Help! Other experiences with buying glass at Nuova Venier in Murano

I have read mixed messages regarding Nuova Venier in Murano and the purchase of art glass on this website, many over 4 years old. I paid a hefty deposit for supposedly authentic glass sculpture by Dino Rosin and a hefty balance is due prior to shipment. Does anyone have any recent experience? Feedback is greatly appreciated! I am in the same boat with a different Murano company. Their name is Vetreria Foscari. I purchased an expensive set of glass WHILE VISITING their factory. No amount of writing or calling has worked. I have written to the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy as well as the counsul general of Italy in San Francisco. If anyone has any other advice, please help. Also, FYI most these companies tell you it takes 90 days to ship the goods, but charge your charge card right away. That way you cannot reverse the charge on your credit card, since it has been too long! Shame on the Italian Government for not helping regulate this more.

We had a bad experience with a rug in Morocco. When it arrived, it was not same quality. It was a lengthy process, but we did get our credit card company to reverse the charges. If you call your credit card company and follow all their directions carefully, you will eventually get your charges reversed. If you are talking about a large sum of money, it's worth the trouble.

We purchased glass in Venice twice and eventually received it in perfect condition but had to pay duty on it. Can't remember the name of the store, unfortunately.

I believe that you can get charges taken off your bill within 30 days. Talk to your credit card people. They are supposed to charge your card just before delivery and not 90 days before. I have done this in America where somebody charged my card and I didn't receive the goods right away. Approaching 30 days, I called the CC company and cancelled the purchase. Another 30 days later, the company called me and asked me to consider. I told them that I didn't like their way of doing business and that I no longer would buy from them.
