Help Needed with Air/Train connection in Rome

We are flying into Rome and will go directly to Venice by train. I've read there are several train stations in Rome. Which is the closest to the airport and what is the best way to transfer? Thank you for any insight you can give.

EuroStar trains to Venice depart from Roma Termini. There are bus connections from Ciampino Airport and train connections from Fiumicino Airport. If you haven't booked your airfare yet fly in to Venice, book an open jaw ticket if your departure is Rome.

If you could fly directly to Venice you would solve your problem. Flying open jaws will save you time and money. If your flight arrangements are already made you should take the Leonardo Express to Stazione termini and catch a train to Venice.

Keep in mind that you may suffer from jet lag and feel terrible. You can buy rail tickets at the airport for the trip to Termini and the leonardo. When you retrieve your luggage and pass customs follow the signs for "FS" in Terminal C. The track for Roma will be be posted and it is usually the one on the right.

Buon viaggio,

As a previous poster stated, if you haven't already booked your tkts you should fly open jaw and fly into Venice and out of where ever you are ending your trip. If you have made your reservations, you could pay a change fee of probably around $200/tkt. but then you would save yourself the price of the train tkt and your precious time. We always fly open jaw. Open jaw airline tkts aren't really any more expensive but you do pay a drop fee for a rental car.
