I was supposed to go to Assisi for two days but that seems to have fallen through. Instead I am stuck in Rome, which I do not like. I have a flight from Rome to Venice on the 21st. I have to leave this hostel tomorrow, the 18th. Anywhere close that I could go for two 1/2 days and return to Rome for the flight that is affordable (22euro or less). HELP

Betsy, I'm suprised to hear that you don't like Rome, as there's so much to see and do there. However, since that's the case you might consider a day or two in Orvieto. It's only about an hour by train from Rome, and is a beautiful and historic hill town in Umbria. If your flight from Rome to Venice was fairly inexpensive, another option would be to forget the flight and head north by train on the 18th. You could spend a day or two in Florence or Padua and then continue to Venice on the previously scheduled day. Good luck and happy travels!

Try the Beehive. It may be booked but it is nice. It is a hostel but it has one room with four bunkbeds. When I stayed two years ago the people in my room ranged from 19 to around 60. It is not a hostel in a traditional sense, no parties, no loud music. ect. Wendy
