I recently switched to Windows 7 & there are a series of Italian scenes that you can select for your wallpaper. Unfortunately there's no identification as to what town each picture is of. I am trying to figure out which town is the one on the ocean (kinda looks like the Cinque Terre but it's not). It's driving me crazy because I want to know the name of the town so I can visit it on my next trip. Thanks to anyone that can assist me.
If it's the same one I'm looking at, it's Manarola.
It's not Manarola though it does look like it could be somewhere on the Ligurian coast (or Amalfi coast). Just can't figure out exactly where!
Are you talking about the one with the pink house in the middle? It's Manarola. (The actual title is Manarola on the Mediterranean.)
Wow...you are right! I didn't think it was the Cinque Terre but it is. It was taken from a tight vantage point & I didn't recognize it. Thanks so much.
Sheron,
If it's the same one I found, it's definitely Manarola. Is this the one - blog.kirb.us/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/it-wp1.jpg?
I have a similar scene on the Desktop of one of my computers - www.toddadams.net/images/wallpaper/hires/Manarola,%20Italy%20at%20sunset.jpg
As I recall, the walkway on the lower left is the start of the famous "Via del'Amore", which leads to Riomaggiore.
Cheers!
Yes, that's similiar to the picture that I'm referring to. I'm embarassed to admit that I was there in September but didn't recognize the Windows 7 picture as being Manarola because it's a "tight" picture & doesn't show the whole town so I didn't recognize it, and the colors of the buildings are different in the Win7 picture than in my pictures. Either it was photoshopped or the buildings have since been painted. Thanks everyone for helping me identify it.
Wow! What a beautiful picture. Thank you Ken for providing the site. Thank you Sheron for the query so I could see this gorgeous photo.
Take care.
Hello everybody, I (obviously) confirm that the town is Manarola, you can read an article on this blog about the Cinque Terre
Within the article there'also a link to a great WIN 7 themes gallery.
