First time poster so be kind! We’ve booked 6 days in Sorrento on a lemon farm with day trips to Capri, Pompeii, hiking the Path of Gods to Positano and down time on the beautiful property. We will fly into Naples most likely, but based on what else we plan. We want to spend a few more days somewhere in Italy! We’ve been to Rome, Florence, and Genoa for short stops on a Mediterranean Cruise, with two full days in Rome.
Looking for something different, prior to heading to Naples (starting place) and then Sorrento. We love all the things-art, amazing food, cafes, views. We don’t need to lay on a beach, but a nice place with views and a pool sounds great as well. Or a city.. see this is why I need to know the options! We can take a train if not more than 6-7 hours away. Please share your wisdom of Italy travel.
Last May, after we went to Sorrento and Naples, we took a bus to Matera from Naples (4.5 hours) and stayed 2 nights, it was a fascinating place. We then went on to Puglia - Bari, Polignano a Mar, Alberobello, and Lecce. But that all took a week, so not sure how much time you have. Every place, but Alberobello, was easy to reach by bus or train.
Planning on staying in/near Sorrento next year. Where are you staying? Staying at a lemon farm intrigues me.
