Trying to escape 45degree weather in mittenwald tomorrow .any advice or experiences on Italian border

Ok, I am assuming by 45 degrees, you mean Fahrenheit not Celsius? I have a hard time reconciling Mittenwald with 45 celsius... If Fahrenheit, the Italian border area near Innsbruck is still in the Tyrol/Alps and won't necessarily be warmer. There IS a lovely castle there that I cannot remember the name of offhand. If you mean celsius, Global Warming is worse than we all thought...

Actually, Bolzano will be about 10 degrees warmer tomorrow and there are a number of things to see. There is the Castle Tyrol (Brunnenberg) among others. Take a look at www.viamichelin.com for things in that area. You can also go to googlemaps.com and click on the More button and select photos to see photos that people have "pinned" to the map there. That will give you an idea of what is around there. Hope this helps!
