Help in planning visit

I’m 75 and a few health issues, but want to visit my dear childhood friend who lives in a tiny village about an hour’s drive outside Florence Italy before it’s too late for either of us…. First - looking at flights I’m seeing at least @ 12 hours from NY airports (like JFK)… is there an easier/short way to get there?? Then, once in Florence, I’m thinking I’ll be exhausted and need at least a night’s rest. I’ve been there before so no need to spend a week sightseeing but a day or two rest and good meals and sights will be nice.. Then - are there SAFE and RELIABLE driving services that I could pay to pick me up and take me to this little mountain town? I would spend several nights with my friend and then do the reverse trip….

Thanks for any tips and suggestions!!

Flights- I can find several options of NYC-FLR in the 9.6 hrs to 11 hr travel time range.

What village? For folks to offer ground transit help, knowing the destination is useful info.
Probably expect to pay ~200 euro each way.

It looks like a tad over an hour drive time to this village. But you could save some money by taking the train to Montevarchi, and then a taxi to Duddova. Just a fought.
