Well - pretty much everything has come together for our "Last Minute" trip to Italy, except (!) that I forgot to book our tickets to the Ufizzi and the Academy, and since we will be there from the afternoon or evening of 18 April and checking out 23 April. Does anyone know of a good tour guide or company that could possibly get us in during those dates? I've looked on line, and yes!, it's possible but for an incredible amount of $. I think the worst thing that can happen is that we take a day and go to Pisa or where-ever and then come back to Florence from Lucca where we're going next. I don't want to do that, but we will, last resort.
I'm confused, are you just looking for tickets to see both of those or are you looking for a tour that does both. If you just want to go to both museums on your own, you can get tickets online at https://webshop.b-ticket.com/webshop/webticket/eventlist. They have tickets available for both. If you are looking for a tour to both, I would recommend WalksofItaly. Yes, they are more expensive, but they come with great reviews.
For the Accedemia, check out the Nude and Food Tour. We walked right in without a wait, saw the sites, got the tour and then went out and had a food tour of Florence for a very good price ans tour.
I second Walks of Italy
I'm also a fan of Walks of Italy
As said earlier, you can also take a ticket at the entrance in the museums.
Also, should you really be unable to visit these museums, why not lift up your eyes and just look at Florence beauty, bridges, palazzi, squares, churches, etc.
My advice: take your time in Florence and take your time in Lucca and if not much time, skip Pisa. You will fall in love with Florence and Lucca.
Thank you all! I've booked one Tour and two fast track entries for all the dates I needed, and not paid a small fortune. Much appreciated.
hey vicki
that "goof" turned into a yeah! congrats

Vicky, I'm just curious? What website were you using for Uffizi tickets? For the heck of it, I pulled up ticket availability for one of your dates (April 19th) on the official ticketing site? Regular-entry tickets (24,00 € per adult) show as available for all but one time slot. I would guess it wouldn't be much different for the Accademia.
