We're heading to Italy for 2 weeks next month and need help finishing off the second half of our itinerary.
We fly into Venice, stay there for 2 nights, rent a car and drive to the Dolomites for 4 nights, then take the train from Bolzano to Florence. We fly out of Rome. We've got 8 nights unaccounted for right now, with our sights set on Florence and Rome.
Should we just stay in Florence for 4 nights and Rome for 4 nights?
We want to do at least one day trip into Tuscany, which seems easy from Florence.
Would staying a night or two in Sienna be worth it vs just staying put in Florence and visiting Sienna as a day trip?
I doubt 4 nights in Rome is too much, but would we be better off using one of those nights elsewhere?
Should we try to squeeze in a trip to the coast or something? Not too keen on CT from what I hear about the crowds these days however.
Thank you!
