Help discerning Alpe di Siusi from Ortisei

We are spending five nights and thus four full days in Ortisei in late June. I plan to buy the Val Gardena 3 day pass. Now what has confused me is I keep reading that Alpe di Siusi is not included in this pass and yet the pass indicates included lifts to it. Now I realize it is a large area so my thought is there are other passes not included. Are these not included in pass lifts preferable to the one that is included? By preferable I mean more scenic and/or go to somewhere more scenic.

We will have one day not included in the pass so willing to pay for a non included lift.

Is it the Gardena Card listed on this webpage? https://www.val-gardena.com/en/summer/mobility/ If so then expand the section "View the lifts" and you can see the list of what is included. We had the card last summer and can say from personal experience both the lifts and the funicular in Ortisei were included. It was fun, actually, after a day on one side to ride the lift up the other side in late afternoon and have an Aperol Spritz at the top enjoying the view.

If you're talking about a different pass (and there are a confusing number of them) then unfortunately I don't know

I am glad to hear you feel the Val Gardena pass worked well and that you were able to get to Alpe di Siusi with it.

I did some more looking around and two lifts I have read about that I think go to Alpe di Siusi but are not part of Val Gardena pass are Cabinovia and Seiser Alm. Perhaps there are others as well. I am trying to sort where you can get to on these lifts as opposed to these lifts.

Been to Alpe Di Suisi a couple of times but only once when staying in Ortisei when we had the Val Gardena pass.

At that time, the Val Gardena pass did include the lift from Ortisei up to the Alpe Di Suisi (which is a somewhat scary ride if it is windy, btw). I believe what you have read is regarding other lifts on the Alpe or from the Alpe to reach other towns. That is not of concern to you if staying in Ortisei.
Where the lift from Ortisei brings you is actually a perfect spot and short walking distance to the very best scenery on the Alpe.
You basically get off and explore by foot. In the summer you would not take another lift in this area.

On google maps look at the Alder Hotel ALPE & Sporthoel Sonne ; this is the best scenery area and very close to where the Ortisei lift drops you off. Google even has a pin marked: Viewpoint Bench Panorama it is a very scenic 15 minute walk from the lift station.
On google maps look for:

Telecabina Ortisei - Alpe di Siusi ; this is the lift drop off.

The other side where Compatsch is would be at least an hours walk away one way ; this is the way cars would drive. In that area there are other lifts.

Mreynolds,

Thanks for the additional information-especially about the wind!

I think the other lifts I have seen mentioned are to near Compasch for hikes in that area which is how I got confused.

I will definitely check out the area you suggest.
