Hi all, I have 15 days of R&R leave coming and am currently overseas already. My husband is flying to me in Munich, where we'll do Oktoberfest and then either Plan A or Plan B.
Plan A: head to Siena from Munich by train and explore Tuscany for 3 nights, then train up to Zurich, and meander south from there, departing by plane from Geneva. Please note, we've already done Rome, Venice and Florence on a prior trip. We had to skip Tuscany, hence why that's our primary Italian destination this go round.
Plan B: Alternatively, we could train straight to Zurich from Munich, then go South and end in Siena/Tuscany. I really want to do either the Bernina or Glacier Express train, and also hit the following places in Switzerland if at all possible: Zurich, Luzerne (to include Sunset train to Interlaken), Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken/Grindelwald, Zermatt, Montreux/Geneva.
Also welcome to alternative destinations in Switzerland. We're not trying to hike or ski, we just want to enjoy time together relaxing, eating, drinking, and sightseeing after 6 months apart. All advice welcome!
