Would love some adivce - we are dropping my son at terminal 1 and we need to get to Terminal 3 - would like to know if we can travel easily from 1 to 3 inside the airport. We are going to London via British Air and he is on Air Itlaia to Spain. First international flight for him alone - We want to get him situated as best we can before we head to our check in. How much time do you think it would take.both of our flights leave at 8 am. Thank you.

You can walk between these terminals, but not sure if you can get past security at one terminal if your boarding pass is for a flight leaving from another. At any rate, once he reaches the security line, there aren't that many directional choices to make.

If I remember correctly the distance between terminals is more than you might think but there may be shuttle buses or something similar to save you walking miles

Bobb_todd is right, it's a longish walk, but it's not difficult.
