Heat in Italy closing attractions?

The temperatures in Italy (Rome and Florence specifically) have been near or above 100 degrees recently. Someone just told me today that some of the main attractions (Coliseum and the Pantheon) are closing due to the heat. Does anyone know if that is true, or not? Do you know of other tour attractions that have closed?

Any tips for travelling with the heat?

Thank you!

In Italy there aren't news of something closed due to the temperature. Has happened in Greece, but not in Italy.
When is hot the suggestion is always the same: drink a lot of water and cover you head with a cap. Don't drink too much alcohol and sugary soft drinks and don't eat too much.
And remember: this Summer is the coldest of the rest of our lives, so if you cannot travel to Italy in Winter enjoy your holidays!

I'm not in Italy this summer, but last year there was an ambulance stationed at the Colosseum every day from 7 am to 7 pm in June, July and August.

Tuesday: 103 Florence, 108 Rome. Marrone! Can't even imagine. This is why I always travel there in the winter or shoulder season.
