Rooky question about RS Heart of Rome Walk… How would it work to do the walk in reverse in order to end at Campo de Fioro? Am hoping someone has done this and/or can advise based on familiarity with Rome. Thanks.
We’ve done it both ways, no problem
Often have just walked parts of it one day and finished on another day
We actually like ending at Campo de Fiore as well, end with a spritz and people watching before dinner
( which can also be done at P Popolo)
If you are planning to stop in at churches just be sure to confirm their hours
We did it on our first visit with no problem. I think it is a better plan to end at CdF around aperitivo time when the market is gone, it’s been swept and cleaned, and the view across the piazza is unobstructed.
Excellent! Thanks very much to you both.
Yes, but to get the same views described with the walk, you need to walk backwards.
Good point, thanks.
Great info! We will be in Rome at the end of the September spending 2 days before our Tuscany RS tour.
I found the map for the walk, but is there an audio tour that goes with it or a narrative I can download (hopefully on Spotify). Thanx!
You can download Rick's audio tour app. It's basically him reading his book, with a woman who gives directions and keeps it from turning into a monotone. It's especially good for museum tours, since they last about 60 minutes or so which for us was plenty, hitting the highlights and making it all cohere into something meaningful and memorable rather than overwhelming.
