Heart of Italy vs Best of Florence/Venice/Rome

Hi, I'm going to Europe in March to ski and plan to stay an extra two weeks in Italy. I'm trying to decide which of these two tours to sign up for. They seem to have a lot of similarities and they both sound wonderful. I'd welcome any insights or suggestions from anyone that has done either.

Part of my decision revolves around Venice. I will be in Venice with my ski group a few days before I can get on either tour. I will also be leaving out of Venice to come back home. That leans me toward "Heart of", and then fill any time after the tour however I want. If I do "Best of" then I have 2 days to "kill" before the tour starts in Venice and I will already be there.

Volterra is on the Heart of Italy tour. I did the Heart tour in May. At the end of the tour I took the train to Venice for a few days. I loved Volterra.

I've not done Best of V, F, R but I've been to all 3 cities on different RS tours. I did Heart of Italy as my first RS tour.

I would go with Heart of Italy because of the variety it offers with 2 busy cities, 1 hill town and 1 seaside location. I, too, loved Volterra!

Heart of Italy for two reasons. You will be doing Venice on your own and you'll get Rome on either one. Second reason is the Heart of Italy Tour offers more variety the VFR.
