I recently placed an order with Headout and realized within 2 hours that I needed to cancel it. Unfortunately, the company refused to cancel my order, which was very disappointing. Additionally, I discovered that the price I paid was double what was listed on their official website. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I hope the company can improve their customer service policies and ensure their pricing is consistent across all platforms.
Welcome to the forum; sorry for your frustration.
Without more information it's unclear what may have happened in your case..
What was the product you ordered, and what was the posted cancellation policy on that product? I don't use 3rd-party aggregators for tours/tickets but took a look at some offered on this one and their cancellation/rescheduling policies look to be clearly displayed in the info for each product. A lot of them I browsed state that "These tickets can't be cancelled or rescheduled."
As well, how many of the products/tickets did you purchase, for what date, and what were you billed versus the posted price? I note that most of the offerings include the word "from" in the advertised prices, as in "From $42.18" That means that the price of the product can change depending on date (high-season tickets may cost more) type (a child's or senior's ticket may have different pricing) or even size of tour group (fewer people buying the tour may result in higher individual price).
What is Headout ?
Kim, it's a 3rd-party aggregator like Get Your Guide and Viator. In the case of tours, it's not clear what companies actually conduct them whereas that's included in Viator product info (not that I use them either.)
When I see the word “curated” as shown on the Headout landing page …”The worlds best experiences curated just for you “…my Spidey sense kicks in and I run away. It seems to me the growing use of this word attempts to add value when in fact none exists.
Welcome to the forum! If you stick around you'll see most of us do not recommend using a 3rd party for tours, etc although others here do use Viator and GetYourGuide with good results. The forum has had a few posts about Headout, some with problems, some asking if this was a legit company.
It might help others if you could let us know what you were trying to book? And assume it was Italy since that is the forum you chose to post in?
Sorry you got taken....
If they charged you more than the stated price on their website, you can dispute the charge when you get your credit card statement. Make sure you have proof of the stated price, like a screenshot.
