Having Trouble Reserving Uffizi and Acaademia Tickets

I wanted to follow Rick's advice and reserve tickets for Uffizi and Acaademia galleries. I used the official site which is b-ticket/b-ticket/Uffizi. Everything was going fine until when I filled in the credit card info and confirmed to order. Then I get this Confirmation number (begins with 38...) and the next window says the transaction was cancelled. So I did it again to make sure only to get the same exact confirmation number and the same message that it was cancelled... I have not received any confirmation email from them. What is going on?

I am afraid that I do not know what is going on either, but I would recommend that you email them to find out - their help email is help@bassilichi.it.

We had this happen the first time we tried, and were successful on the 2nd try. It may be the website was having problems. Several of the Italian museum websites for buying tickets time out after 6 or 8 minutes. If you are going very slowly and methodically (like me!), it could be that the website timed out. I would try again. Good luck!

2 days ago I booked my tickets for both of those museums through the museum website: www.uffizi.com. You give them your requested dates and times and they get back to you within one day with confirmation. I will be there April 7-9 and I was able to get my first choice dates and times on both.

As I recall, I had to make a phone reservation. This was trying... they kept me on hold forever then a bit og a language barrier... but I got it done and it worked beautifully. Maybe somebody will post the phone number. I will look and see if I can find it.

I also tried last night and was not successful. I emailed my hotel and they reserved the tickets for me at 11.50 euro (1 euro commission) a piece. The best price is at b-tickets but unfortunately they only have afternoon slots available on the website. Others suggested calling the museum direct if you don't see the time you would like to go. Good luck.

I, too, tried to book Ufizzi and Accademia online yesterday with my MasterCard. It booted me out at the last screen. I simply called the phone number and she did it pronto for me. In good English, too. She got a little chuckle when she asked what time I wanted to book and I stumbled a minute and said "uh, 14:15." (Because that's they way I've read they read time) She laughed and bit and said, okay, 2:15.

No problem. She also got another chuckle when I said Grazie at the end of the phone call. Feeble attempt I guess!
