Hey guys! I plan to go with my boyfriend to Rome In September and I found some really interesting offers on this site. Have you booked from there and can you tell me if you had experience with them?
Well the price of the hotel i liked was cheaper then the offer on the website and I was concerned about the bad reviews. That's why I ask.
After reading some of the reviews of this company I would advise you to keep well away from them. For Italy I have found Venere a useful tool for finding hotels. Once I have found a hotel I book directly with them. I have occasionally used Venere or Hotels.com if they offer a particularly good deal with no problems.
Well you know what they say - if it is too good to be true ....
So if so many people have a really bad experience why do you think you experience will be better?
Before booking a hotel through a website (either the hotel's own, or another one, whether reputable or not), e-mail the hotel directly, and see what they can offer. I just had great results doing this for Switzerland; in each case I got a room that the website didn't show, and/or a lower price than the website showed.
amie,
I'd suggest using the listings in the Guidebook to find the hotel you prefer, and then booking directly with the hotels. Involving a "middleman" can sometimes result in "miscommunications" or whatever, and you could have problems.
I don't have experience with that website, nor will I ever be using them in future.
