I am cruising to the Mediterranean with my mom who has limited mobility and we need a private van or taxi tour for the day to get into Florence from Livorno.The rates are generally astronomical. But this company's rates are much better. It has a website etc at www.tuscany by taxi. Has anyone worked with them and can you give recommendations? Thank you.

Barb - They will be right by the gangway when you disembark in Livorno - I was speaking with them a few weeks ago about taking a small group I will be guiding in a few months and they sound good.
Of course, you could simply rent your own car from my friend Thomas who will be there as well, representing AVIS , and he will give you a GPS for your ride. Very easy on the highway - A bit difficult in Florence itself.

My concern is that at the moment, there are only 2 of us needing the taxi service. I am traveling alone with my mother who has the limited mobility issues and I really need to feel secure about the company I opt to guide us.
How do you check out the reliability of such a company as in what made you feel secure that they were solid?
