We are thinking we may spend a couple of nights on the east coast of Calabria directly east of Lamezia Terme. If you have gone and can recommend an area place, we’d be extremely grateful.

PS: East and West coasts are American nomenclatures. The name of a coast in Italy is always based on the Sea where it is located. In this case it would be the Ionian Coast of Calabria (from the Ionian sea) or "Costa Ionica della Calabria". The west coast would be the Tyrrhenian Coast or "Costa Tirrenica".

They are only one hour apart. You can choose one location (either Le Castella or Marina di Soverato) and visit the other on a day trip. Le Castella has a nice castle island in front. Beaches are great everywhere.
