Hi , on a previous thread, I was given the suggestion of the site 'Venice link ' to book our private water taxi this June. I have emailed them twice last week regarding a question where we will be drop off . I read that the hotel ( Best Western Hotel Ala ) we are staying have their own dock . I have not received any response . Should we just book and hope that we will be drop off at the hotel dock? Thanks .

I don't know about Venice Link, but I have stayed at the Ala a couple of times. As far as I remember, they do have a dock. I wouldn't worry about it, though. They are less than a city block from the Giglio vaparetto stop-no bridges or stairs between the stop and the hotel. No worries if you get dropped at the hotel dock or the regular stop.

A water taxi cannot drop you off at the vaporetto stop. I would not pay 95€ to book a private taxi without being sure the hotel has a private dock that is accessible by taxi. ( some of the side canals are too narrow and the taxi won't go up there). You should ask the hotel to confirm before you book the taxi.

You could just take the Alilaguna Arancia (Orange) line direct from the airport- it stops at S Maria del Giglio- right next to Hotel Ala.
We changed our Venice hotel for this very reason

There is absolutely a dock right next to the S Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop where the water taxi can drop you.
