Has anyone tried the Swim Path in the Cinque Terre MPA?

We've got our Cinque Terre reservations in Vernazza and train tix to and from the Cinque Terre, i just need some help with finalizing the itinerary. We are supposed to arrive in Vernazza early afternoon. i considered hiking to Monterrosso that day and maybe taking a train home, but there's a swim trail listed on the MPA website.

There are three of us traveling, two adults and a 12 year old. i don't want to get us in over our heads, but we are in good shape and we are good swimmers.

And advice?

I'm guessing you've seen the website for it. Swim path in the CT

That page is auto-translated into English, leading to this hilarious phrase: "only bathing and apnea will be allowed,"

@Michael. You read my mind and the same website. I've been pondering what apnea was supposed to translate to... and it's either napping or hopefully kayaking! We'll see.

Hi there! We did not do the swim trail, (actually I don't remember seeing it however we did not know about it) but we did rent a small boat while in Vernazza, which you might consider. We had so much fun, and it was not expensive, we had a half day for 95 euros. We brought a picnic lunch, visited the waterfall between Vernazza and Monterrosso (which looking at the map, is probably further north than the swim trail), jumped in a couple of times to swim, and cruised past all five villages. Very very basic boat but lots of fun. This was in September. Have fun! Here's the link:

Wow, I have been there 5 times and never knew about the swim path! Nor did I know about the boat rentals! This is why I love this site!

@Joan - You've made our trip!!! i had been looking at nordest, but focused solely on kayak rentals, when i mentioned the boat rental to my husband he loved the idea. We are super excited to rent a yacht on the Italian Riveria!!!

LOL Have fun on your yacht!
Glad this has sparked some interest, I've posted about it before but nobody's ever responded. These guys were very laid back and easy to work with ("what time should we get here" "any time you want!" )
