Hi, I was browsing thru RS book regarding Vatican tours. He mentioned about walking tour companies like Context, Enjoy Rome,Romewalks,Roman Odyssey and Eternity. He said that context tour is intellectual and is best for travellers with longer than average attention span. We will be travelling with my 15 yo and the three of us adults likes an overview of history. Thanks.
The best tours I've ever had anywhere were with Through Eternity (we did the Vatican one with Gabriel and the Forum and Colosseum with Justin). I've had a few excellent ones with Context. I did an Enjoy Rome tour once and would term it as acceptable, but wouldn't do one of theirs again. Through Eternity and Context definitely expect you to rise to the content rather than gearing the content to the lowest common denominator. There were young people on the Through Eternity tours and they seemed interested.
If you just want an over view and basic but good information I would just take the tour given by the Vatican. It's pretty cheap and goes through all the most popular rooms. They give a wonderful explanation of the Sistine Chapel artwork. http://biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?weblang=en&do Donna
