Has anyone rented a car at cruise port civitavechhia?

Would you know how difficult it would be to rent a car at the cruise terminal? I am thinking we would arrive there on a Thursday. Drive to Florence area. Stay at Villa Torreaconna.com for two nights then drive to Le Spezia. Leave rental car or return it there if possible. Take the train to CT Riomaggiore for three nights.Stay at Vanni 1 thru Mar-Mar Rentals. Leaving by train all the way to Rome or taking the car if we still have it to some where near Rome and train in. Stay in Rome for two nights and then leave for airport.

Go here, one of the most popular car rental providers used by people on this site: AutoEuropeand check to see whether they have a pickup location at the cruise terminal or nearby. Also check with your cruise line to see if they have this information?Regarding driving a rental car to Florence from the cruise terminal: there have been ~20 discussion topics in the last 6 months started by people who have received 1 or more $150 traffic tickets for driving in Florence in something called restricted zones that are very difficult for rental car drivers to avoid in the historic center of Florence. Another problem in Florence is overnight parking is surprisingly difficult to find. The best strategy is to select a hotel that provides secure overnight parking.A car is a big headache in the CT, only 2 towns have any overnight parking: Monterosso and Vernazza. Best to return your rental car in Florence but watch out for the restricted zones when you do so.
