Has anyone recently experienced 5 day quarantine after tranfer at LHR?

Recently read that tourists who transferred at LHR, even if didn’t leave terminal, must quarantine in in Italy for 5 days. Wondering what this is like. The official notice said you couldn’t leave your place of quarantine for groceries or takeout. Also can not have supplies delivered. I can’t image our Airbnb host will stock the apartment for us.

Surprised no one has responded to your question yet. Where did your information come from? I saw something similar and am concerned as we have a trip to Rome booked for October. Can't change the tickets as flying into London is the only way our mileage plan gets us anywhere in Europe. We'll have to cancel if this is true or doesn't change. Not going on vacation to quarantine.

Use this interactive questionnaire to determine how you can enter Italy
https://infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/returningtoitaly.html

As of today you would be required to quarantine for 5 days since you are entering Italy from the UK

You are allowed to enter/return to Italy from or after a stay/transit, in the previous 14 days, in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (including Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and British bases on the island of Cyprus), but you are subject to specific containment measures, indicated below.

In accordance with Ordinanza 18 giugno 2021 adopted by the Minister of Health, in force from June 21 to July 30, 2021, travellers coming from the UK or who have visited/transited the UK in the previous fourteen (14) days, must:

Fill out a digital Passenger Locator Form,
Present to the carrier, or any other authorized person, a document proving the negative result of a molecular or antigenic test, carried out by means of a swab, in the 48 hours before you arrive.
Irrespective of the result of the test mentioned above, self-isolate for a period of five (5) days, informing your local Health Authority in order to activate health surveillance procedures.
take a second test at the end of the 5-day self-isolation.

My husband is coming on a different flight, but I have a ticket later in August with a 2 hr layover at LHR. I asked the hotel we've booked in Rome about my quarantine there for 5 days and they said it was fine. I just assumed that they would bring me food. I'm not upset at 5 days' quarantine since we will be there in Italy for awhile, but i wouldn't quarantine for longer. I am waiting for this friday (when Italy's new COVID rules come out) and if things are tightened, then we'll change our ticket.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, that's the interactive form I saw as well. I'm also waiting to hear what the new COVID rules that are coming
out this Friday will be.

My husband is thinking it would just be wiser to reschedule in April/May 2022. I'm trying to hold out longer as I've had our reservations since March and am anxious to go back!

Our flight through Heathrow to Venice is set for October 8/9. We don't have a problem with the 5-day quarantine as we'll be staying in a condo near our relatives, but they do live about 90 minutes north of Venice. My question is, will we be allowed to:
1) pick up our rental car at the Venice airport; and 2) travel the 90 minutes to our condo? Figuring that we'll soon be asking our relatives for their advice. It's clear that "you couldn't leave your place of quarantine for groceries or takeout" -- you're in quarantine after all. But I hadn't heard that you "Also can not have supplies delivered." How is one supposed to survive those five days? With brought-from-home Clif bars?

Interesting information. But continue to wonder if anyone has experienced the 5 day quarantine? Would love to hear about the experience.

Hearing from someone who spent the quarantine would be helpful. I just learned today about the 5-day requirement, which started July 29. I believed that our plane transfer transit at Heathrow meant we weren’t really in the UK. But the planes departing from London, and the Italian authorities aren’t going to verify whether we were just changing planes, or had been residing in York for months, eating fish n’ chips every day. Bummer. And what about getting a taxi from the Bologna airport to our apartment in town? Does quarantine not begin until after you’re in lockdown, potentially closing a taxi driver in the meantime? Being vaccinated (with CDC card) will get us into restaurants and museums, but we can’t first get into a grocery. Hope this changes in the next month.

As I reread articles posted, I am confused about how long the five-day quarantine is in place. I know Italy extended their state of emergency until Dec 31, 2021. Does that extend to the quarantine?
Can anyone please elaborate? Thx so much!
