Hi, We we’re going to take Tirennia from Sardinia to mainland Italy but I was just looking at trust pilot and reading all the horrible reviews and was wondering whether any of you have ever taken the ferry with them. Now I’m having cold feet about taking them and am reconsidering flying from Sardinia back to Milan and then driving the 5.5 hours to Orvieto, which I was hoping to avoid by taking the ferry and driving just 1.5 hours from Citavecchia to Orvieto.
I'll just say that if you end up flying, Rome is much closer to Orvieto than Milan, so fly to Rome!
No experience about the ferry.
Hi Balso, I checked into that and there are no direct flights from Sardinia to Rome. One would have to fly to Germany first and then to Rome.
RyanAir, Volotea, Ita and WizzAir all have direct flights from Sardinia to Rome CIA or Rome FCO.
What site do you use to check flights? I mean, there can't be more tourists going to Sardinia from Germany than from Rome.
When I was young Tirrenia was the "cheap way" to reach Sardinia. I guess things haven't changed, but it's one night after all. You'll survive, like hundreds of thousands before you. Take a cabin with bathroom and window, bring your own food and a good book.
Hi, Thank you so much. I was able to find a flight with ITA. It was our travel agent who told me there were no direct flights but apparently she was wrong!
