We are considering taking the TGV train from Turin to Chambery (then transferring to Grenoble). But we want to be sure the bulk of the ride is not through tunnels. In other words, we want to see a bit of the Alps. Has anyone done this trip? Also, we are traveling mid March. Do you think we we will be OK if we wait to buy our tickets until about 3 days before we travel? Thanks!
