Has anyone bought/seen Renu or like contact solution in Italy?

Hi all, I'm traveling to Venice on Monday and am trying my best to cram enough contact solution into my 3-1-1 bag, but, it's leaving me little space for any other liquids. I'm wondering, has anyone purchased Renu or like contact solution in Italy? The kind that does not require separate saline rinse? While I was allowed to bring a full-sized bottle through last year, it was taken away from me upon my return through Germany (strange, because it was allowed through Germany on the first leg ...). Any input would be appreciated! Grazie!

I just returned from a month in Italy and we traveled with a still sealed 4 on bottle of contact lens rinse (we don't use Renu however) and were able to buy more easily when we needed it in Rome one week later. I don't remember the brand but it worked fine!

This is why I love using disposable Dailies after years
of lugging or hunting for saline and cleaners.

I wear glasses not contacts but it has my observation that lots of people throughout Europe, including Italy, wear contacts. They all need the same solutions and these are easily available.

I took a small travel bottle for my husband and I ,of course ran out half way thru the trip - we were in Milan - we had to buy it at an eyeglass place(optician), had no luck at 'pharmacy'....maybe grocery/dept stores may sell...we were just lucky we found the place we did, as we were on the last dribble! After having no luck at a pharmacy (which is where we can buy it here) we were getting a little worried...

Renee, the larger bottle of saline solution should not have been taken away from you by TSA or other Security! (http://www.tsa.gov/311/311-carry-ons.shtm). My daughters have always taken it in a separate gallon-size ziploc bag for medications without any problem. In the US they've always taken the medications bag out to show Security but not throughout Europe.

I know! I was aggravated, but not too much, because I was headed home. I'd hate for it to happen en route to Italy, though. I'll put it in a ziplock this time and perhaps that will help. Thanks!

Hi Renee, I got some at a pharmacy in Florence last week. I didn't see any in just looking around, so asked the pharmacist in basic Italian words and gestures and he pulled out a brand called Irilenti from behind the counter. It's been great, but was a little pricy I think €5 for a small 100ml bottle.
