We'll be travelling to Rome in Dec. Heard about Rome Pass but not sure if it is worth to buy to avoide the lines...to save money...? Any suggestions? Thanks.
We used the Roma pass two years ago during a four day stay, and given how many sites we planned to visit and how much we used the Metro (covered by the pass), it made sense...but we did have very busy days. I would checkout the Roma Pass website at http://www.romapass.it They cost 23 Euros each. Add up the sites and public transport you're planning, and see if it's worth the cost. Good luck!
Alice, if you are going to two major sites (covered by the Roma Pass) AND are planning to use public transportation, then the Roma Pass is certainly a good deal. It will also allow you to bypass lines at the Colosseo. For more information on whether you should buy a Roma Pass, CLICK HERE
Ron in Rome is the man on the Roma Pass. Our FAQ on this site reflects his infinite wisdom on this and other subjects about Roma.
Exception: if you are there on the last Sunday of the month, National museums and attractions are free! Otherwise, yes, good deal if you plan on seeing more than 2 major attractions and riding the metro/bus.
