Hi, When I look thru Yapta.com for Rome, there are some flights that has Iberia airlines. I was wondering if anyone has used that airlines before. Thanks.

We flew Iberia to Rome (with a layover in Madrid) last fall. The staff was friendly and helpful, the meals were decent and the airplane itself was comfortable. Just be prepared for emphasis to be placed on Spanish (example: the stewardess would offer cafe' not coffee and te' not tea haha, but really, no big deal whatsoever). All in all it was a very good experience and I would recommend them to anyone.

Sally, I have flown many different airlines but never Iberia but I would go to airlinequality.com to help me make comparisons. As with any site keep in mind that the really good and really bad reviews should be taken with a grain of salt....They could be from employees or competition!

I've flown Iberia many times. They often have the least expensive flights to Europe. They are an entirely reputable major international carrier, and they are part of the One World alliance which includes airlines like British Air and American. I've never had a problem with them.

Iberia is reputable. It just merged with British Airways.

We used Iberia last fall to fly into Barcelona and return from Seville. We had no problems and were very impressed with the airport in Madrid. However just like the previous post, they sure make a lot of announcements is Spanish and when they say it in English it's like we got the Clift notes version of it. If the price is right, go and enjoy!!!!!!!!

@Dona: I'm glad I was not the only one who noticed that about the announcements. They would talk for 3 minutes in Spanish but the English version that followed it would be about 45 seconds, and you'd get the feeling that you missed something... But I'm hoping if it was extremely important, they would tell us.
Also the 2nd in-flight movie was completely in Spanish, no sub-titles. So once again, emphasis on Spanish on a Spain-based airline (who woulda thought?) but still great

As Tex says, Iberia is a well-known European airline with a good safety reputation, now owned by British Airways. You'll be fine.
