Handmade olivewood spoons—-Can anyone name some stores that sell handmade olivewood spoons in either Florence or Rome? I’d like to buy one that is handmade locally and good quality for a gift. I’ll be there in mid-September.

There is a lovely olive wood store in Orvieto if you happen to be going there
Shop owner is Umberto, delightful man with beautiful handmade products

I think in both cities you will find any number of vendors and shops that have olive wood items. Especially in Markets, there will be several vendors, including places that sell olives and other food items.
Now are all truly handmade? Are they even made in Italy? That is a whole other issue. Even if it appears they have a guy in the back carving away, I would be skeptical, but if you like what you see, like the quality, and the price is right, you have your spoon.
