handicapped travel in italy

as a disabled person i know that travel in italy can be a real problem...however, i have done it so many times that i will be most happy to answer any questions.... i am again planning a trip in october and i taking my electric 3 wheeled scooter called a gogo traveler with me...i took it on my last trip and had very few problems....does anyon else travel with a wheelchair or motorizzed scooter....wanda

I only want to respond by saying GO WANDA!!! I've seen those scooters and they have really opened the world up to you.

I'm most impressed. I commented repeatedly to my wife on our last Italy trip this past May that there is literally no accomodations for the disabled. Stairs everywhere, rough curbs and no disabled ramps anywhere. Kudos to you for stepping up to the challenge.
