We're going to be in Austria and Italy in September, 2012. Starting in Vienna, we'll see Salzburg and then travel to the Bolzano area and up into the Dolomites. If we are going to spend time in the Alpe De Siusi, would seeing Hallstatt be repititious?

I wouldn't think so. One is a village on a beautiful lake; the other is a collection of hotels in a huge alpine meadow. Both are surrounded by mountains, but the mountains themselves are very different.

Alan, I agree with Lola - the two areas are somewhat different so I don't believe it would be "repetitious". Both areas deserve a visit, if you have time. Happy travels!
