It may be too late but I have already put down my deposit before realizing I have not done the proper research. Does anyone know if Halldis is a reliable rental company for Rome, Italy. I have put down a sizable deposit and even though it is etched in stone I would rather not have a surprise when I got to Rome as it relates to quality of the place. The pictures on the site show a gorgeous apartment in a great area. How can I be sure that this is the case? Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Tripadvisor.com and search for Halldis Rome. There are 31 hits. You can read them to see what experience others have had. FWIW, you're probably fine.

Halldis has been around for many years. They are now owned by the Ferragamo family and affiliated with many other reputable rental agencies like Windows on Italy. I used them for a Florence apartment rental two years ago. They are quite legitimate.
