Half board

I inquired about reservations at a hotel in Italy and this is how the hotel responded: Double room with breakfast Euro 70,00; Half Board (mezza pensione) Euro 50,00 per person; Does this mean: 70 Euros for a room and breakfast for two?
100 Euros for room, breakfast and dinner for 2? Other? Thanks.

Based on what one hotel offered me, I would conclude something different, which would be: (1) bed and breakfast for the two of you, 70 euros; (2) choice of either lunch or dinner, 50 euros per person. You don't say where or when this is, but that does sound like a value-priced room, but a more pricey meal.
You really ought to clarify with the people at the hotel itself.

Thank you! After receiving your responses, we checked with the innkeeper. It is 100 Euros for a room, breakfast and dinner for 2. Cheers!

I stand corrected, and that sounds like a great deal! I hope the quality meets your expectations. Could we learn the location and season?

Certainly. It's Hotel Moderna in Erice Sicily in late February. It was recommended by the Rick Steve's tour team.

We have stayed in the Hotel Moderna several times. It was clean, the owners were nice and the food was very good. Have a wonderful trip.

Thanks for the feedback about Hotel Moderna. Have you been to Erice in the winter? Have you stayed in Trapani?
