Had a great visit we just returned!

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone in this forum we just returned home yesterday. Tourism is definitely back all the major sites were VERY crowded so be prepared make reservations and get everything in order early. I’d say don’t bother loading your Covid info to the airline for your return I spent over an hour doing this and had to show everything in person in Rome and our layover in Zurich. Vaccine cards were hit and miss but they were sticklers on the trains and make sure you have proper masks for public transit although I think it’s going away soon. We also dealt with a cancelled flight on the day we left and it was a nightmare we were told Lufthansa is doing this a lot we arrived at SFO I had done my baggage and it was not going through to Rome we spent 2 hours with a United agent who worked with us to rebook but it was terrible we had to run to our gate and barely made our flight to Frankfurt other than that terrible start all was great. Happy to answer any questions we visited Rome Venice and Florence. Thanks again to everyone for all the help leading up to trip so sad it’s over it was my 4th time to Italy and definitely the most crowded I’ve ever seen it however we typically go off season.

I am glad you had a wonderful visit! I will be in Rome, Naples, and Pompeii in mid May. I had not considered making advance reservations for any attractions, but now it sounds like I should do that. Did you need to reserve tickets for any Rome museums besides the usual suspects (Galleria Borghese or the Vatican)?
